Heirloom Futures is a contemporary fashion exhibition and benefit auction that brings together art, design, and craftsmanship from across Africa. Presented by Norval Foundation in partnership with Buchanan & Co., the project positions garments as cultural artefacts, storytelling vessels, and collectible works.
Running from 15–23 April 2026, the exhibition features a curated selection of handmade pieces by leading African designers, spanning clothing, headwear, and jewellery. Each work reflects a unique narrative — rooted in heritage, identity, and contemporary expression.

Visitors and collectors are invited to engage closely with the works throughout the exhibition period, ahead of a live benefit auction on 23 April 2026. The auction is presented in collaboration with Strauss & Co. and brings these exceptional pieces to market in support of Norval Foundation’s programmes.
The evening unfolds as an immersive experience, with curated food and drinks by Annalize Catering & Chef Ollie, and live performances by Cape Town City Ballet – celebrating the intersection of fashion, art, and performance.
Proceeds from Heirloom Futures directly support the work of Norval Foundation, ensuring continued access to art education, exhibitions, and cultural programming for diverse communities.
