Admission

Non-members are required to purchase an Access card for R120 online or on site in order to gain access into the museum and Sculpture Garden. This card entitles the holder to unlimited entries for one year from date of purchase.

Norval Foundation offers tailored, private tours which provide a personalised experience of the Foundation and our exhibitions for our visitors. Tours are 60 minutes long and can be booked via tours@norvalfoundation.org. 

The following tour options are all inclusive of museum admission (R120). Art Club Members are entitled to a 20% discount on all tour options.

Kids & School Tours

As part of its mission to support and broaden art education, Norval Foundation welcomes and assists school groups and tours.

Norval Foundation hosts a unique support structure to sponsor a child’s tour from an underprivileged school each time you purchase a Help a Buddy tour.

Accessibility

The Norval Foundation is fully accessible by wheelchair. Elevators run throughout the building, and ramps help patrons make their way through the gently sloping Sculpture Garden.

No dogs/animals allowed except for service dogs.

Safety and Security

The Norval Foundation is monitored by a state-of-the-art security system and 24-hour CCTV, as well as permanent guards on site.

Norval Foundation’s new membership option, Access Membership, needs to be purchased online or on site for R120 in order to enter the museum. This membership replaces daily admission and allows the member unlimited entries for one year. 

In order to gain entrance to the gallery spaces, two forms need to be completed: Daily COVID-19 questionnaire, and register, which can be completed on site at the Norval Foundation Shop.

• All staff and visitors are required to wear face masks.
• Visitor’s temperatures will be taken at the main gate. For visitor’s whose temperatures read over 37.6, entrance will not be permitted.
• All memberships will be sold at the Norval Foundation Shop counter, found on the left after the main entrance.
• All guests must sanitise before entering the shop. Sanitising stations will be set up around the facility.
• Visitors are required to complete the Daily COVID-19 questionnaire, and register.
• Temperatures will be taken again at the shop so that visitors can include the accurate temperature in their forms.
• Once forms are completed, visitors can purchase their memberships and time slots if they have not already been purchased online.
• Visitors make their way to the Atrium and must follow the one-way route, as indicated by the red line that leads through the galleries.

Sunscreen and sunglasses

If you intend to take a walk through our Sculpture Garden, please protect yourself from the sun on hot days.

Comfortable shoes

The foundation is meant to be experienced at a slow, leisurely pace – so ensure that your feet are comfortable enough to do plenty of walking around.

Parking

Norval Foundation is an independent museum and registered non-profit organisation. As such, we receive no government grants or subsidies to aid our financial sustainability.

Car parking charges contribute significantly, not only to the running costs of Norval Foundation, but also to the preservation of art and culture in South Africa.

Our car parking system was partially sponsored by SKIDATA. In order to make parking easier and more eco-friendly, the system uses automatic number plate recognition when you drive in, which means you do not need to pay using a ticket. Instead, you make payment by using  your car’s number plate as a reference.

 Parking is free for the first 30 minutes | 30 minutes – 1.5 hours –  R10 | 1.5 hours –  5.5 – R20 |  5.5 – 7 hours – R50  | 6+ hours – R120.
